It is part of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.co2legal.org.br\/turismo\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CO2 Legal Tourism<\/a> initiative, a project run by the NGO Mecenas da Vida, a SeloXis partner. The NGO works in places with a tourist profile, <strong>engaging a network of participants<\/strong> (hotels, inns, restaurants, shops and services) in tackling the global climate crisis.  <\/p> \n\n<p><strong>SeloXis-approved<\/strong> businesses participate in the project by offsetting their emissions by contributing to initiatives that improve the <strong>quality of life in<\/strong> their communities, making each <strong>family<\/strong> that joins the program <strong>a local guardian of nature and the climate<\/strong>. Among the commitments are: <strong>not clearing<\/strong> forest areas, <strong>restoring<\/strong> their land and plantations using the agroforestry system, <strong>not hunting wild animals<\/strong>, keeping <strong>school-age children in school<\/strong> and taking part in <strong>training for agroecological production<\/strong> and <strong>work parties<\/strong>. <\/p>\n<p>There are currently five destinations where the network of tourism enterprises has committed to the Climate Guardians program: <a href=\"https:\/\/itacare.com\/\">Itacar\u00e9 (BA)<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/barragrande.net\/\">Pen\u00ednsula de Mara\u00fa (BA)<\/a>,<a href=\"https:\/\/serragrande.net\/\"> Serra Grande (BA)<\/a>, Trancoso (BA) and Jericoacora (CE).<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Caring for people so\u00a0we can all care for the planet What are Climate Guardian destinations?
