The start of a journey towards responsible tourism, aware of its fundamental role <strong>in the<\/strong> <strong>economy and<\/strong> its <strong>impact on the environment and society<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Activities in this area are responsible for <strong>10% of the world&#8217;s GDP<\/strong>. In Brazil, this <strong>percentage reaches 8%<\/strong>. In practice, it&#8217;s money that reaches the bottom line, from the app driver to the hotel owner and the restaurant cashier. With all this<a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/feed\/hashtag\/?keywords=impacto&amp;highlightedUpdateUrns=urn%3Ali%3Aactivity%3A7218693214151577600\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"> impact<\/a>, the industry is also being held accountable for its <strong>responsibility in the fight against poverty and climate change<\/strong>.   <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">As a result, <strong>tourists<\/strong> are demanding that businesses be more aware of their role in this scenario,<strong> investors<\/strong> are more attentive to the money trail and <strong>governments<\/strong> are pushing for stricter regulations.<\/p>\n\n<div style=\"height:40px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Return on investment<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">According to the Get\u00falio Vargas Foundation, for every real invested in international tourism promotion, R$20 comes into the country. &#8220;It&#8217;s an unbeatable investment,&#8221; wrote Marcelo Freixo, president of <a href=\"https:\/\/embratur.com.br\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Embratur<\/a>, in an article published on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.br\/turismo\/pt-br\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Ministry of Tourism<\/a>&#8216;s website. &#8220;From January to May this year, foreigners left here R$13 billion, the best result in five years. That&#8217;s income in the pockets of 7 million workers,&#8221; he says. &#8220;Tourism conserves the forest, but it also improves infrastructure, education, transportation and public safety.
